A trip to Chicago

A couple weeks ago, I got to spend some time in Chicago for a photography workshop. I flew out a couple days early to hang out and visit my old stomping grounds. Ah, to be home again :) It was so great catching up with old friends, walking down familiar streets, eating good pizza, and just waking up each day in the city. I mean, check out the view from my friends' amazing apartment where I stayed...

at bedtime I could see the moonlight reflecting on the lake...

and when I woke up in the morning, I could see the skyline - both the Hancock & the Sears Tower. Don't you just love it?!

I knew I missed Chicago, but I didn't realize how much a part of me the city really is! I thought for a while that it was just Massachusetts that didn't suit me. But the truth is that it's SUBURBIA that doesn't fit! I just don't think I was made to live in the suburbs (sorry Woburn!). Who knows, maybe I'll move closer in to Boston one of these days?

It was nice to be home though, and to be with some of my favorite people in the world. I'm thankful that I was able to see so many friends, and that I got a few free days in the city before the workshop began (more on that later...)
